Hello Everyone!We are being our usual disorganised selves, which seems to be the norm, especially at this time of year... I am really craving a long holiday - it's 2 years since we were on our way to the south of France for a month & 4 years since we were in Bavaria. Cornwall sort of closes down in January & lots of folks go away at this time of year... It doesn't help that we are being bombarded with emails & post featuring special offers for this & that, but I am continuing to focus on saving & filling our sealed pot - ready for next winter.
We have had a really great Solstice, Christmas & New Year. Our trip to Stoke was lovely & so nice that Rose & Asa joined us - the grandparents loved seeing them both too! Sime wants to get our photos up from the trip, so we'll sort it eventually. We also visited our friends, Kath & Jim in Glastonbury - which was great! More photos to follow...
On our return home, we were back to work for a couple of days & we picked up our tree - which we will no doubt leave up until Hugo's birthday at the end of month... The girls & beaus came over on Christmas Day & stayed overnight. We swapped our not so secret Santa presents - this is the first time we haven't bought a few extras for the kidlets, but everyone was fine about it. So there were gifts from Grandad Gerry & Nana Stip-Pep, we also had some fabulous home made gifts from Asa's parents - including damson gin & vegan, oil-free chocolate truffles! And a surprise parcel from a B&B guest, Cathy - a fantastic crocheted blanket for our living room (which you may catch a glimpse of in the photos) & a 'Meat Is Murder' stamp for Sime to play with!

Hugo gave Sal his X Box.
Rose made Sime a framed poster of Tom Hodgkinson's Freedom Manifesto.
I gave Asa 2 second hand DVDs, burned off a CD & made some sweet & spicy hazelnuts.
Asa gave Hugo a map of the world, which he can scratch off places he's visited.
Ryan gave Rose a large raspberry shaped pot, which he'd painted red (her nickname is Rozzy Raspberry).
Sime bought Ryan a second hand DVD & an original vinyl LP of Ian Dury's first album.
Sal bought me a second hand cardigan, which she embroidered & crocheted extra bits on to!
It's such fun to see what everyone came up with!
Thank you for your new year greetings, we had a rather tipsy evening in Helston - which was good & our phone & internet were reconnected on the 1st, so we're all happy about that!
On Sunday, we shall be going off to Devon for a couple of days, but first have a busy day tomorrow - cleaning up holiday properties after new year guests!

Thank you - we've had a couple of emails from folks wanting help to go vegan this year, so will try & get some photos done - we keep forgetting & just get stuck in!

ReplyDeleteYes, your blog has definitely changed. It used to have a dark background, which made it hard to read. Now it looks lovely, light and fresh.
