Dodging The Rain

Spring is supposedly here, though not sure it has truly arrived in this area of Cornwall and it seems like everyone who lives outside of Portmellon is experiencing warmer, drier weather than we are.  Our hibernating season has been a long one this winter, so even though it still has been quite chilly and wet - we thought it was about time we just got out there... We met up with a friend for coffee on Sunday morning in Mevagissey and are happy to report that the newish cafe on the harbour,  She Sells  has very nice coffee and vegan smoothies. It's been months since we walked round Meva, so afterwards we had a walk to the end... Kitty in the window... Not for sale! Heading back up the hill... Caerhays Castle beach - Porthluney - just before sunset... Dusk on the Fal Estuary. Canada Goose watching at Ruan Quay... The Fal is quite high at the moment. Swans further down the estuary... We love taking what we

Mevagissey Harbour

Monday's weather was really dull, but we fancied getting out in the fresh air. Last week, we saw a grey seal just outside the harbour, but the photos & video didn't come out very well. We thought we may see him again, but he was nowhere to be seen... We love this time of year - when we get places to ourselves... Yesterday, we had a full day out in the sunshine... On Perranporth Beach... And ended the day at Truro's City Of Lights... Lantern Parade & switch on of the Christmas lights. More to follow soon... Bye for now, Kay & Sime xx

Mevagissey Festival

Here's some photos which prove men never grow up... Festival transport... And the boys got to ride shotgun through Mevagissey... The drummer maybe a cool dude, but he still mucks in...  The stage on the quay side... "Shall we do the gig, or shall we take the ferry to Fowey?" Two dolphins... Friends, friends, friends, friends... Hmmm... Getting a bit worried about these two! JC - soundman & producer to the stars... The boys enjoying themselves... I think they'd had a tiff... Sime's turn to ride on the back of the truck... With all the gear... And as it's festival week - the police just waved at him... He was very excited! The stage from the side... The harbour... Backbeat Sound System Two Smithlets & a boyfriend A lovely time with family & friends. Kay & Sime xx
